Join this knowledgeable, insightful & generous teacher, director, casting director and actor, for an audition intensive. Refresh your prepared pieces, get coached on new material.

WHAT: workshop is divided into four parts including - overview of auditioning from the other side of the table, work through 1st monologue, work through 2nd monologue, simulated audition.
You will work on 2 pieces: we suggest 1 classical monologue (verse), 1 contemporary monologue. Feel free to prepare more material, just in case. (See below.)

This workshop is limited in size. To get on the list, please go to Green Wood Studios’ contact page and sign up. 
The coaching: You may work on 2 memorized pieces, standard regional repertory audition, one classical & one contemporary - UNDER ONE MINUTE EACH and do time them. For your contemporary monologue, it’s highly recommended you use a local playwright’s work. For your classical piece, please use 10-16 lines of verse. If you wish to explore a Sonnet, they are the perfect length and there are over 150 of them. You may work on 2 contemporary pieces, if you prefer.
Section 1, Seminar – tips from the other side of the table; tackling the black hole the entrance, introduction and exit of your two minutes; how to reverse the power structure and truly shine. 
Sections 2 & 3, Coaching – exercises with entrances/exits and text; personalized coaching on your material. This is a highly active workshop, with engaging exercises that are immediately applicable to your pieces.
Section 4, Simulated Audition - polishing your audition package. Please bring your headshot & resume. 
If you want, please bring an audition outfit; optional but highly recommended.

Bring: There are exercises with movement so please wear appropriate attire; jeans are not recommended. Cirque Roots is a no shoe space but you may wear yoga shoes, socks or go barefoot. We will take short breaks. There are no restaurants close by so please bring water & food. For the simulated audition, do bring your headshot and resume; audition outfit optional but highly recommended.
